Fishing Vessels
Naval Consultant Herman Jansen has designed a wide range of vessel types for the professional fishing industry over the years. The most successful and well-known design is the Concorde series — a 40 to 45-metre beam trawler concept originally developed for the flatfish fishery.
Fishing Vessels
Vessels from this series have been delivered to numerous owners both in the Netherlands and abroad and were built by a variety of Dutch and international shipyards. Known for their robust design, efficient hull shape and practical layout, these ships have proven to be long-lasting and remain the foundation for modernised fishing vessel concepts.
Tour Boats and Passenger Vessels
In addition to its fishing vessel portfolio, the bureau has considerable experience in the design of tour boats and passenger ships. For several Amsterdam-based operators, designs were developed that meet strict regulatory, safety and comfort requirements. Larger day-trip vessels are also part of the portfolio, including the Jan Smit, which sails regular routes to and from the former island of Marken.
Workboats
Naval Consultant Herman Jansen also provides custom designs for workboats, including several projects delivered to the municipality of Amsterdam. Complex inland waters and urban environments demand specialised designs with smart solutions for manoeuvrability and structural integrity. These projects are characterised by their innovative approach and close collaboration with end users.
