RI&E / Action Plan for the maritime sector.
The Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (IL&T) has announced that it will tighten its enforcement of occupational health and safety regulations. During annual inspections, IL&T increasingly requests to see an up-to-date Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) and the accompanying Action Plan (PvA).
According to Article 5, Paragraph 1 of the Dutch Working Conditions Act (Arbowet), every ship, owner, or operator is legally required to maintain a current RI&E. Failure to comply may result in fines, depending on the number of crew members (Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment). The RI&E and PvA must be reviewed at least once a year, or when changes in onboard operations warrant an update.
If the proper documentation is missing, IL&T may detain the vessel. Avoid unnecessary delays — schedule an appointment with our office. We can handle the entire process at a fair price.
